She’s here and she’s home. Marina Grace is so named because (a) we like the ocean and Marina is spanish for “from the sea”, and (b) we love that line from “how he loves” that says “if his grace is an ocean we’re all sinking”…grace like an ocean.

39 Weeks (1 To Go?)
Waiting. I don’t like it. I’m not patient. We are ready for this phase to end and the next to begin. But, we wait, and waiting is good. Patience is a virtue, a fruit of the spirit, all those good things.
But, yeah, I’m tired of waiting.
A Letter of Gratitude
As the summer comes to a close it feels like an appropriate time to say “thank you”:
Thank you to our parents, who have supported us in a million ways for years, but especially during this pregnancy.
Thank you to our payer team who consistently remind us that we are not in this on our own.
Thank you to our financial supporters who make it possible for us to do collegiate ministry in Boston.
Thank you to those we have asked to join the team this summer. I know being asked for money isn’t fun, but we are humbled by your generosity and partnership.
Thank you to our students who were involved in DIG this summer, you helped rejuvenate me in so many ways.
Thank you to the BU leadership team for taking time out of your summer to Skype and chat and plan and dream. I am so excited to see how God will use you guys this semester.
Thank you to Stacey for taking the risk and moving out here to Boston. Thanks for throwing an awesome baby shower!
Thank you to our REUNION community (especially Jessica and the other ladies who helped with the shower), we are grateful for your friendship and support.
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our baby!
Thank you to family and friends who helped provide supplies for this baby…we are so blessed in this area words don’t quite capture the awesomeness.
This list could go on and on…we are grateful and we are blessed.
Full Term
Today marks 37 weeks of this pregnancy, which means we are in the safe “zone”. This baby can now come at any time.
We are ready. Of course, if there is one thing I’ve learned from everyone we’ve talked to, we aren’t. No one is ever ready. But, we’ve been waiting for this for almost a year now, it was about this time last year our first pregnancy started. We are ready for pregnancy to be over and for parenthood to begin.
I can’t wait to be a dad. I can’t wait to get to know this kid’s personality and quirks and to find out what it looks like.
I’m as ready as I will ever be. Let’s do this!

International Campus Ministry and Baby Showers
This week should be crazy, fun, and inspiring with our friends from Globalscope in for their annual Celebration celebration. Globalscopes does international campus ministry and I have been able to learn about them during my times in Dallas over the past year for our Leadership Network University Ministry Learning Community. Several of their teams are in places (like Spain, England, and Germany) that are even more post-christian than Boson. I’m eager to learn from them!
Saturday afternoon some of our lovely friends (and family) threw Amy a baby shower. We are blessed to know so many great people and feel taken care of and loved on in so many ways!
